Membership Requirements
Prospective members must be over 18 and under 65 years of age, live or work within the Borough of Bogota or a contiguous community (Hackensack, Ridgefield Park or Teaneck) and have never been convicted of a criminal felony.
Junior Membership Requirements
Created in 2020, the Bogota Fire Department, Junior Firefighter Program is designed to give interested teenagers the opportunity to be involved in a volunteer program which provides vital services to the Borough of Bogota.
Junior Firefighters must be between the ages of 16 and 18.
We are looking for anyone (ages 16 to 18) who is interested in learning more about what it means to be a firefighter. All training and equipment are provided.
The Application Process
Complete the application here, and return the application to the Bogota Borough Clerks office at 375 Larch Avenue. You can download the application by selecting the "APPLY HERE" button to the left.
Your application will be reviewed by the Bogota Fire Department Applicaiton Commitee. Once reviewed, a representative of the committee with contact you for an in-person interview.
Following your interview, your application will be passed on to the Fire Company you request for processing.
Once an opening is available your application will be brought before membership of the department for acceptance to the Bogota Fire Department.
You will serve a 3-month probationary period, afterwards you will be considered for dull membership to the department.
During your first 3-months, while you are a probationary member, you will begin in-house training. Following your successful completion of your probationary period, you will be enrolled in the Bergen County Fire Acadamy for formal training and a firefighter.


Firefighter One Course Description
The New Jersey Firefighter 1 course is a foundational program designed for novice firefighters. Here are the key details:
